POV: you stopped starting your day in a hurry.
Not a perfect morning. Not a 5 a.m. one. Just a calmer one. Here’s how it goes from my chair:
- Alarm off, feet on the floor, one slow breath. Before anything else.
- Kettle on. Listen to it. That’s the soundtrack.
- Phone stays face down until the first cup is half gone.
- Open one curtain. Whatever the weather, let the day in.
- Sit in the chair for three minutes. No scrolling, no list. Just sitting.
- Pick one word for the day. Easy. Kind. Steady. Slow.
- Then the day can start. It will still be busy. You’ll just arrive at it differently.
You don’t have to do all seven. Steal one. Tomorrow, try the face-down phone and see what changes.
